Wedding Banquet Decorations III - Stage

Here are some pictures of The Oriental Peral Restaurant, Bukit Jalil - our KL side wedding reception held on the 30 Nov 2008 *^.^*

The stage pictures taken before our wedding dinner reception @ KL.

The stage pictures were taken by my AD pg-Xuen. The double love with our names on it and doves around it, are provided by the restaurant, whereby the two huge colourful heart shape balloon were done creatively *^.^*

Ann's can't do the same double heart shape (like the one with lights on, at my Seremban stage) becoz the slide will drop down from the middle of the stage. So she keep it clear as it is and decor the stage surronuding with blue n white, big n small flower balloons *^.^*

A more close-up shoot of the stage *^.^*
See wht i mean by the projector slideshow in the middle of the stage...yup! That's y *^.^* And the very cheerful heart shape balloons with hand-made ribbon mini flower bouquet *^.^* ~lovely!

After our guest were slowly coming into our dinner reception area, the 2 column balloons were brought inside and were placed at the side of the stage.

Here comes the main topic of this post: The Wedding Venue Decorations *^.^*

The VERY beautiful Blue and White Balloon Arch
done by Wilfred and Ann - my balloon decorators *^.^*

Amazing how they did this balloon arch for the entrance of our wedding venue~!! The varies sizes of blue nad white mini balloons form the stand of the arch and how did they make the balloons flot and form the arch!? ...It's a very beautiful 'piece-of-art' Our friends n families love it so much, that's the point! *^.^*

Our restaurant also provided us a flower arch and flower standy along our walk-in pathway *^.^* So pretty with the lights effect from the bottom *^.^*
Me n Chenseng getting ready for the *Zhang zhang zhang entrance~ *excited lar! Can tell by looking at how I hold Chenseng's hand - so tight ler...hihihi... nervous, yes, but our big smile hide it all~~ Confident, confident, confident!!

Check out the balloon arch above us as we are waiting for the MEGA entrance *^.^*
OH~ and check out my wedding gown *^.^* white with blue emboideries details and with a long, long train *that later collect colourful confittees... ho-ho-ho *EXCITED!

Hang on there, my friends *^.^* More are Coming up....
The INSIDE stories and pictures of our wedding venue: our stage decorations, wedding cake and wedding gift-away~!!

Wedding Banquet Decorations I Seremban venue

I had 2 wedding dinner for my wedding, one was at MinKok Restaurant, Seremban (am from Seremban *^.^*) and second one was at Peral Oriental Restaurant, Bukit Jalil, KL (is Halal~!! under Tai Thong group). We booked our venue one YEAR ago~! Kia-shu but we HAD to do this because our AD was a HOT date *^.^* Read more on how me n my hubby did research, found and decided for our wedding venue at: Kathy&Chenseng's wedding banquets-How to

As you read, you'll find a blue-pen sketched balloon decoration's draft. Before that, we didn't know what to do or what do decor our wedding
banquet. Here's the story: It all started from our pre-wedding shoots *^.^*. These---->
Yup~! The 2 silver and a pink heart-shape helium balloons *^.^* ˚\˚/˚
Our 'Inspirational' Balloons *^.^*
More Behind the scenes of our pre-wedding shoot at:
Kathy and Chenseng's Pre-Wedding Gallery

Me and chenseng bought this 3 helium heart shape balloons from Balloon Bouquet @ Section13, PJ for our Outdoor Pre-wedding photography *^.^* But on our first day of PS, we were unable to shoot outdoor =( coz the sky was cloudy. So the three balloons will need to be refill after one more month for our second PS. We 'flaten' the balloons and just a few days b4 our second PS, we ALMOST forgetten bout these 3 lovely balloons~!! So NOW! where to find the nearest balloon shop (near our house) that can refill HELIUM for our lovely balloons~?? Tak-kan travel all the way to PJ again to refill... And so as we entered the shop, me and chenseng were amazed by their balloons decoration portfolio~!! So....ta-da! That's how we decided to use balloons as our Wedding banquet Decoration *^.^*
Here are some very nice pictures on my Seremban Banquet's Decorations...(*drum-roll hihihi)
Chang~chang~!! My wedding stage decor with a balloon couple-doll *look sooooo like me n chenseng *^o^* and the HUGE double LOVE with lights~!! So pretty~~

The closeup shoot of the couple-doll: Groom with 'proper' black n white suit PLUS a cute hat *^.^* and blue bow-tie (our colour theme~ hihihi) Bride with REAL veil and blue n white gown (like me~~!! *^.^*) Look closer~~ the groom's hand is actual
ly passing his bride the flower bouquet~~ SUPER CUTE nehh~~~*^.^*

Now Wilfred and Ann even special made 2 balloons' column for the entry of our walk-in:

The 2 very pretty Balloons' Column were in Blue n White and were full with varies of heart-shape helium balloons *^.^*
They even add 'flower' designs balloons here n there at the reception table, on the main door and inside the whole hall, so the whole venue look-like in a Blue and White Theme *^.^*
lAfter we walk-in and were seated infront of the stage
(*eh-hum, of course!*^.^*)
The double LOVE shape balloons is right behind us~! Very nice combination and was such a nice angle of us and the LOVEs *^.^*

The double LOVE shape balloons was Ann's idea and the lights was Wilfred's idea *^.^* Thankyou soooo much for such a creative and presentable set-up~!! Even the lights blink-blink was with the rhytm of our wedding background music~~!! Such a coinsidence and prefect combination~!! After a few dishes, I changed to my special mom-made Qipao for YamSheng (Guest appresiation section). Now, look at the pictures and tell me: Do me n Chenseng look-a-like with the couple-doll wilfred and ann made? Hahahaha...Look-a-like yoy!

Spot the differences~!
Hahahaha.... Real couple vs Balloon couple *^.^*

One more~~ while chenseng poping the champaign for YamSheng.

We seriously really, really, REALLY LOVE the double love shape balloons behind us~!!*^.^*

The 2 column balloons were then brought in and place at both side of the stage.
Cake-cutting ceremony, weee~~ The column balloons matches my Qipao so well *^.^* Lovely~!!
Small pink love (me) surounded by big red love (chenseng) *hihihih

Champaign flow flow flow~~~ Like our finance in future! Come in pocket flow flow flow till full full full~~ *^.^* hehehe
To be Continue...Decor in Pearl Oriental Restaurant, Bukit Jalil, KL

Wedding BedSheets Wedding Room

As our colour theme is Blue, so we wanted a romantic blue wedding bedsheet. I saw alot of cute cute cartoons and pretty patterns the shops always have. Chenseng is very particular about the quality and comfortableness. While I am VERY particular about the design! I wanted bedsheets with classy flower stitches (not printed!) If got Pheony flower lagi best *^.^*! Not checked, not strips, no cute cartoons, not big or tiny flower prints, not dull shades with dull patterns, not those shinny shinny 'indian silk' type....(*I memang abit fussy, I hav to admit now) Becoz we went research in alot of places. Wow WOw WOW!!

For examples: we went ask
Speacialist Centre John Little and Cavelli - quality is SUPERB! They come in nice classy design too! But too too too expensive, can't afford =( (available in SG); Akemi/Jean Perry - can be found anywhere in Jusco/Parkson (be alert of their sales, can go up to 70% or 80% some times *^.^*) Quality is ok but they dun hav higher ThreadCount; Aussino - They have alot of designs but dun quite like their quality. Firenzi - nice quality but limited design/pattern/colour.

So, we went to Metrojaya Midvalley and found Genova Letto. We both caught an eye on this very nice blue shades of bedsheets *^.^*

Genova Letto - Ricardo Edition 600 TC
100% Egyptian Yarn Dyed Jacquard

2 pillow case, 1 booster case, quilt cover, queen size bedsheet
Plus! Free soft quilt with the set *^.^*

This blue one is for our NEWly-wed bedroom *^.^* The red love was my 1st valentine present from Chenseng with a O.D.M watch on it~~!! (hummm....those were the sweet sweet days ~~)
We got this set for 30% discount only... so is around RM420. Then we continue look under the same brand for a redish one. Is for Girl-side, my home town queen size bed too. And we found:

Genova Letto Ricardo Edition 800 TC
Red Orangey colour *^.^*

These set is more expensive becoz is 800 TC!!
Super super comfy, yoy! ~~*^.^*~~
It has very silkly feel~~ Is RM200 more then the previous blue one
*sorry bout the lousy quality of photography here =p used flash

We bought another quilt from IKEA for my Seremban bedset *^.^* So total we spend just ONLY for BED is almost RM1.2k~~!! O.o !!~~ Yes, my friends. So you can choose to go for cheaper onces when the shopping malls is having super sales. But Genova Letto's quality is good *^.^* Thrust me...I'm lying on it now! Hihhihi....

More Proffesionals Photos taken by my AD photographer - Xuen Wedding Photography *^.^* I didn't expect him to took such details =) I'm very glad he and his teamates did! Here are some of my bedsheets and newly-wed room photos **^.^** (Highly recommanded Xuen! If anyone need his contact, let me know ^.^ willing to help and he might give you better offer if u mention me *^.^*) ~happy viewing~
OUR NEWLY-WED BED ROOM ~blue blue~ *^.^*

My Actual Day Wedding Veil, Pearl Set of necklase and earrings (Thankyou, Mommy **^.^**) and my engagement ring... ALL on the newly bought bedsheet *happy yoy!

SEREMBAN wedding venue..(and more!)

Thanks to my best friend from high school - Siew Min for reading my blog and gave me comments...i REALLY appreciate it! Keep on reading my updates, yeah? *~happy~

So! On the 29th Nov08 will be my Seremban Wedding Dinner.
When it comes to choosing the venue...I don't have a hard time to think which venue i want, coz I've already have the BEST choice, and that is Restaurant Min Kok!

One weekend ('round Jan08), me and chenseng went back to Seremban and plan to go breakfast at Min Kok with my parents. Min Kok is famous for their Dim Sum! So the next morning, after dimsum/breakfast, we went to the counter to book the date.

I'm sooooo lucky! The dinner slot for my day is available! ^.^ But the main hall has been taken by a Dancing organization. They are having their Gathering there too. So my dear friends and families! I think there will be a huge crowd of 'dancing' people, coming and 'sharing' their 'happiness' with me on the 29th Nov08! Although is not hard to find a parking space at Min Kok...please come on time to avoid the jam.
SO! After talking to the lady incharge...she is kind enough to let me take a few snap shoots of their mini stage and arch for my decor references. Thanks, Ms GuiLee! Here are the snap shoot:The stage is very normal...same as the Bukit Jalil Oriental Pearl Restaurant's also. We don't want a 'boring' backdrop with only our names stick there. SO! We went throught magazines and internet, to search for real-life couple's actual day wedding dinner decor. What they do for their stadge back drop. Some put their wedding photos, some put the traditional Chinese TWIN HAPPINESS word - "Xi", some even print out BILLBOARD SIZE poster for full backdrop! ~OMG! I wonder what they do with it after the event?! (kaching! kaching! $$$)

After days of research, we decided to do BALLOONS DECORATIONS!!

This idea comes from Chenseng ^.^ (Brilliant! DD!) He saw this balloon shop at Endah Parade, Seri Petaling.

We got Mr.Winfred's name card. He is Korean! Both he and his wife run this balloon school. So I made an appointment to come over to see their PORTFOLIO. It was difficult to get him...the 1st appointment, he TOTALLY FORGET about it! (*abit angry >.<) Then I have to make it another week...and we finally meet up. He speak little english...but with our eye contact, body language and sign language (hahaha...) we communicate. He showed us quite alot of decor they did - 3 or 4 file holder! They also did the balloon fantasy show held by Bandar Utama Shopping Complex (1Utama New Wing) back in somewhr Dec07-Jan08. It was amazing how only 5 people - Mr Winfred and wife, their 3 friends from Korea (flew here just to help!) did the WHOLE centre court of NEW Wing with balloon characters - Cute baby elephant, Easter bunny, Hen and cute little chics, hotair balloons...ALL MADE from BALLOONS!

Me and Chenseng were VERY impressed. And looking through their THICK porfolio...gave us more inspirations! Our conversation include drawings and sketchings...it was fun! As a result:
TADA!!!
Our wedding decor package is consider a customized package. They have wedding packages from RM600 to RM1k above. Others events like Opening Arch or cartoon characters...are different charges that i didn't find out. FOCUS on wedding only (*hihihi)

SO! The basic decor they provide in a wedding package is 2 balloon standy (they called it Balloon Columns), front desk decor, main table decor with mini balloons (instead of old fashion flowers) and simple back stage decor, exp: love shape made by single balloon tie on together. Balloons arch is included in the higher package. They have soooo many kinds of balloons arches! VERY CREATIVE~! and very PRETTY! I really salute Mrs Winfred - Mdm Ann! She can even make mini souvenirs from broken balloons!! Looks like Chinese styled beads...! Later if I've got time i'll post my illustration on how it looks like..REALLY AMAZING!
SO! After the discussion, ideas, drawings....comes the important part: negotiating! We initially took the RM998 package for both location - Bkt Jalil Golf Resort & Seremban Min Kok Restaurant. So, we took out some of the feature given and replaces with some other features (like wht I drawn above) We plan to keep n take care of the balloons for 2 locations 2 days.
But Mrs Winfred was so considerate - she said some balloons can't stand the `travelling'. And actually, gave us another additional front desk decor FREE!! for my Seremban dinner~~ She's such a good person! (plus she is very pretty! *^.^*)
Our package end up RM1300. (kaching! $$) hum....but me n chenseng thought is reasonable after the talking and idea sharing...meaning they are WILLING to give and accept customer's ideas to show what are they capable of and meanwhile gain a special business! We are so greatful and pay the deposit of RM300 straight away. I hope everything will turn out nice n pretty~! ^.^v

Decision..decision..decisions

After we had got our BIGDAY Date, that is 29th Nov 08 for the ceremony thingy and 30th Nov 08 for the KL-side wedding dinner.

To all the couple who plan to get married...make sure the next IMPORTANT thing to do is:
- decide on your wedding dinner location.
Is best you can do this AT LEAST 1 year b4 your wedding date.
(keep in mind: near to your house? relatives n friends can reach easily?)

-go recce the restaurant/hotel u have decide.
(give yourself more options! go recce more then 2 place.)

-ask for the date availability.
(ask to write down your name to book for the date, tell them you still need time to think about it...not necessary to put the down payment.)

Most important is TO BOOK the date of the selected venue.

Coz u see... as our bigday is 2008 november, last year (2007), early of October, we went to 5 places and only 2 are available on our date.
First, we went to CHUI HENG tht chenseng's grandma like the food thr alot...but too bad...the date was not available :( Then we went to KAM LUN TAI coz is still near Seri Petaling. Avaialble, but i dun like the hall coz the ceiling is low...feels abit 'sempit'. We even try Hotel Seri Petaling...but the food not so good...hum....We also went to some restaurant ner Salak South and Old Klang road. We dun wanna choose venue that is too far from Seri Petaling.

SO! Our first choice is Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Resort's Oriental Pearl Restaurant...we went there (kept our finger cross) and we are LUCKY coz the date is still available!

YEah! I faster ask the person to write down our names and contact and tell her i'll call her for confirmation within 1 week.
Meanwhile, she gave us the dinner set menu for our reference. There are different package strating frm RM550 to RM900. As USUAL, i asked alot of question regarding the beer, menu, free gifts, decor... The girl who served us is very patien too, I'm so glad =P

I really like the venue we choosed! Here is a picture I got from the net. There are a lot of parking space, roofed and spacious drop off/pick up zone, huge lobby(so later can take huge group pictures! hihihi) and bright!

So! After some discussion with the family members... we set a confirmation for Bukit Jalil Golf&Country Resort! I hope I will have a unforgetable wedding dinner there~~!

Only This year Jan we went and pay our deposit. And we havn't go through our food testing yet...coz according to the servise girl: since our wedding date is year end, we can go for our food testing around August-October. Food testing for one table of 6 person only...hum....
Chenseng paid RM2000 for the deposit...alot right!?! why? becoz we took less than 30 tables. If you are planing for more than 30 tables then you only hav to pay RM1K for deposit...(hum...so not fair!)

Here are the draft of the table count for Seremban and KL:
Anyway, I hope the service they give us on our BIGDAY is good! Good Food! Good Service! Good Attitude! Clean! Tolerate! Hope what we are paying for is worth it~~! wish wish wish...
