She Loved the Wrong Fabric

From Inspiration Picture to Her Own Cheongsam ✨

Bride Leni came back to us with another inspiration picture—this time, a beautiful oriental cheongsam.

With her Chinese grandmother and a beautiful mix of cultures in her family, she wanted something that felt meaningful and connected to her heritage.

She loved the idea of a conservative, long-sleeved cheongsam — elegant and timeless, but definitely not too traditional, stiff or “mummy-like.” 😄

And this is where fabric makes all the difference.

She initially fell in love with a satin cheongsam she saw online. But once she tried a similar fabric, she realized the fabric was too unforgiving and highlighted areas she wasn't comfortable with.

So we changed direction.

We chose a soft crepe matte satin with delicate patch lace detailing—giving the cheongsam enough structure to hold its beautiful shape, while keeping the overall look soft, elegant and feminine.

Same oriental inspiration.
Different fabric.
Completely different feeling.

And that moment when Leni did her fitting session, she looked into the mirror and couldn't stop smiling? ❤️

That's exactly why we don't simply copy an inspiration picture.

We look at your body, your comfort, your personality—and the way the fabric works with you.

Sometimes, the problem isn't the design.

It's the fabric.

And sometimes, the right fabric is what makes you finally say:

“Yes… this feels like me.”
